For Mamas With Late-Term Breech

Every pregnancy is different.  Every breech is different.  Different breech positions.  Different reasons for it.

In today’s birth culture, breech is often seen as something to correct.  Some babies turn in response to the interventions that are introduced because that is precisely what they need for optimal position.  Some don’t.  Because that is exactly where they need to be for optimal position.  What then?

Here’s what babies tell me about remaining breech.  After you’ve explored everything. After you’ve done the exercises on SpinningBabies.com, you’ve done the massage, you’ve done the Moxa, you’ve done the acupuncture, you’ve tried the manipulations and inversions, you’ve done the homeopathics, you’ve done the walking the swimming the sex the heat the cold the singing the talking the praying the pleading the visualizing the meditating.  You’ve done all of these things and perhaps more.  Now what?

They are speaking with their bodies.  They are saying myriad things by speaking “breech.”  Like:

- They seek continued communion with you, they want their head close to your heart.  They want who you are, at your core.

- Their highest selves strive to meet with your highest self.  Breech position helps to support that dynamic in a physical way.

- They seek connection with you.  These many interventions are ways to connect with you at your deepest level of fear.  Now they want you to go deeper, to the love underneath the fear.

- Their halos fit better this way.  More room for the halo.

Go read the lyrics to Beyonce’s song, “Halo.”  http://www.elyrics.net/read/b/beyonce-lyrics/halo-lyrics.html  Read the words, and tell me, what is your baby saying to you right now?

How have you been awakened along this pregnancy way?  What rules have been broken for you?

Perhaps your birth plans have changed as a result of caregiver choices and a breech position.  Did the game change on you?  Did it need to?

But no matter what the course of labor and birth have the occasion to bring along with them, this is a special, unique time to delight in your breech baby.  To revel in these last days of pregnancy in the feelings of physical heart to heart, head to heart, knowing that this connection is the foundation for your lifelong “another way” relationship with each other.

Oh, and by the way – any chance your feelings about breech are made up of the same firm resolve as that of your baby?  ; )
